Our Involvement in the WEB3 Space

Exploring Web3 and contributing to its ecosystem aligns closely with the mission of the Sigg Art Foundation, which aims to inspire transformation through digital art and create meaningful experiences by empowering emerging artists.

FIRST NFT ACQUISITION, CENTRE POMPIDOU, PARIS, 2023

Our commitment to contemporary art and digital creativity extends deeply into the Web3 sphere. Highlighting our engagement, in 2023, the renowned Centre Pompidou in Paris embraced the digital age by acquiring NFTs for its collection for the first time, a milestone in the art world. We were thrilled to see Agnieszka Kurant, an artist that participate to the second residency edition in AlUla, co-founded by Arts AlUla and AFALULA, included in the Centre Pompidou’s groundbreaking NFT collection. This accomplishment underscores our foundation’s influence in promoting artists within the rapidly evolving digital art landscape.

DIGITAL ART CURATION, ASPREY STUDIO, LONDON, 2023

Further establishing our footprint in the Web3 and digital art scene, the Sigg Art Foundation was honored to serve as the curator for Asprey Studio in London. Asprey, a distinguished jewelry brand, ventured into the NFT space by launching a physical gallery (Asprey Studio) dedicated to digital artworks. For its opening in June 2023, we curated an exhibition featuring works by renowned Web3 artists Khaled Markshoush, Léo Caillard, and Brendan Dawes, attracting over 200 NFT collectors. This event not only showcased our curatorial expertise but also our commitment to bridging the gap between traditional and digital art forms.

In October 2023, we further solidified our role in the Web3 community by participating in a panel discussion at Asprey Studio. Pierre Sigg, the founder of the Sigg Art Foundation, shared the stage with influential figures such as Redbeard, with Georgina Adams moderating the discussion. This panel highlighted our ongoing efforts to foster dialogue and collaboration within the Web3 and digital art ecosystems, demonstrating our foundation’s dedication to supporting innovation and creativity in the arts.

A Cohort of Cultural Innovators

The WAC Museums educational program offers an immersive training experience designed to empower cultural institutions with the essentials of Web3 technologies. It begins with NFTs and blockchain art, exploring their history, market dynamics, and standout projects. The curriculum then advances to the origins, ethics, and technical aspects of blockchain, including security and privacy. Participants will learn about Web3 applications for museums, such as digital exhibitions and innovative engagement strategies. The program also covers the immersive internet, examining virtual platforms and the future of museums in the metaverse. A focus on AI reveals its role in enhancing museum content and visitor experiences.

The selected participants include prestigious institutions like the Van Gogh Museum, Palais de Tokyo, Design Museum of Brussels, Swiss National Museum, Palais de Chambord, among others.

We are honored to participate in this educational program, which presents an opportunity to expand our network and engage in more discussions with other cultural institutions.
